We can be proud of him because he’s brilliant. Keep in mind that we’ve just dismounted from 8 years of petrol politics replete with euphemisms, deliberate smokescreens, institutionalized lawlessness and an explicit policy of unenlightened self-interest. The fact that this was all lead by a wealthy, entitled fool made us eager to come off it and elect a genuinely intelligent man who worked for his status. “Politician” or not, tis a welcome respite; the fact that he’s a black man is testament to the phenomenology of modern history. We see, in this progression, a persistent, due exposure of intense ignorance being roused by the empowered. If he were another white man, we’d have bought ourselves into another decade of undertones and overtones, ungrounded (but not unfounded) analysis of sociology, and would have sacrificed this opportunity to boil out the virus, so to speak. We are, however, still duly roadblocked in our progress as a free society by the fact that exposure isn’t nearly as effective as education in opening people’s minds. On the other hand, both are necessary.

With the pictures of US soldiers posing with dead civilians now out in the open, can we start calling Obama a war criminal yet?

    We can be proud because:

    1. He promised to get the US out of Iraq, 2.5 years later we are still in Iraq.
    2. He ran as the anti-war candidate, but starts a war in Libya
    3. He promised that he would close Guantanamo Bay in his first year in office, it is still open 2.5 years later.
    4. He hammerred President Bush over Abu Ghraib, but is completely silent as pictures of US soldiers posing with dead civilians are exposed on his watch.
    5. He hammered President Bush over secret prisons, but is completely silent as it is exposed that he is still running these secret prisons.

Can we start calling Obama a war criminal yet?

Can we start calling Obama a war criminal yet?

Only if you accept the Shrub and his literally undead, heartless Vice-President were both war criminals.
